Lousia Engler - Ernster
Lousia (b. 1852) married George Ernster. They lived in Dyersville. George died young. The boys, Nick and Andy, were raised by John Louis and Matilda.They had two sons:
Nick married Mary (last name unknown) Nick was a house painter. Five children:
1. Jerome married Helen (last name unknown). Five children:

Mary Balsama, JoAnne Lehmann, Marjorie, Judith Gemples in

MN, & Jerome in WA.


Marge married an Oberlander, lives in Dyersville, IA

Lousia later married J.P. Pettinger who previously owned the farm across the road from Lousia's father, Andrew. JP sold the farm to Frank Engler, Louisa's brother, and then moved to Stuart, Nebr. Childrens names:
Emma, Lesta [Scholastica?], Frank and Ray

Re: Marie and Jean Pierre Pettinger. Jean Pierre or John Peter as he was also called in this country, is the brother of my great grandfather, Prosper Pettinger [Engler]. I have a photo of Marie [Louisa?], J.P. their children, which includes Marie's by her first husband, George Ernster. It is a copy of a bad copy but still precious. Sharon Leach
