1. Ernest, Mason City, IA,

2. Clara Waterloo, IA,

3. Edna of Shenandoah, IA

4. William and Fred, two brothers, died young according to Edna.

5. Arthur, a third brother (Edna gave no confirmation).

1. Ernest married Dorothy Chapin in Mason City. Ernie was in WWI. They adopted two children, John and Jean. Ernie Engler in Mason City ran a drug store for YEARS!! They lived in Mason City and had a cottage on Clear Lake. Both kids sailed competitively. Ernie took them & their boat all around the midwest to compete.

1.1 John married Margaret [Peg]. Anne Fuerst says, "They met at Notre Dame and now live in Charlotte, NC, a great place to visit. They have three sons and two ? daughters. Anne continues in a second email: "Here are some more pieces of the Engler picture from Ernie's son." John Engler <johncengler@msn.com> wrote:

1.2 Jean attended St Mary's Notre Dame, Iowa State, and Northwestern University, where she earned her PhD. She married twice and for more than 25 years was a professor of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Arizona. Jean died in 2006 after a mighty, decade long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She has a daughter,

Mary, who is married, lives in the San Francisco Bay area and has three children, Elizabeth, Catherine, and Brian Engler De Luna. Mary and her family delight in visiting John Engler, his children and grandchildren in North Carolina nearly every summer.

2.2 Anne Matilda Lumry Fuerst (b. 06/29/37) in Shenandoah, m. 06-02-62 in Sheboygan WI to Le Roy George Fuerst (b. 03/29/32) in Sheboygan, [in Navy '51 -' 54 ?]

I am the granddaughter of John Louis Engler who married Matilda White, lived in Dyersville but died young. My mother was Edna Engler Lumry. She had a sister Clara Imelda Engler who never married, and a brother Ernest who married Dorothy Chapin & owned a drug store in Mason City IA. Andrew was my great-grandfather
