Obituary
  Mr. Andrew Engler died quite suddenly at the family residence, about three miles southwest of Worthington, on Monday evening, August 7th, 1899, at the age of 79 years.

  Deceased was born Feb. 2nd, 1820 in Griesheim, Baden, Germany and came to America in 1847. In 1850 he was married to Margaret Loes in the Cathedral at Dubuque, and resided at Garnavillo for two years, then moved to Cascade in 1852. In 1862 they moved on their farm near Worthington where they have since resided.

  He is survived by his wife and ten children as follows: Louisa, now Mrs. J. P. Pettinger of Atkinson, Nebraska; Mary, now Mrs. E. J. Ferguson of Oelwein; Frank near home; John and Peter of Dyersville; Minnie, now Mrs. J. V. Weber of Dyersville; Emmelda, now Mrs. John Achen of North Washington; Paulina, now Mrs. J. V. Christoph of Dyersville, and Theodore and Prosper at home.

  The funeral took place at Worthington last week Thursday, from St. Paul's church, Rev. Father Zigrang officiating. A large gathering of sorrowing relatives and friends were present at the obsequies. Deceased was an honorable, upright and industrious farmer, and a devoted husband and father. He was highly respected by all who knew him, and will be sadly missed by his friends as well as in the family circle.

  May he rest in peace.
